I tend to edit my posts quite often. I like the suggestions for the Edit Summary:

"Briefly describe your changes (corrected spelling, fixed grammar, improved formatting)"

How about making those clickable? Like suggested tags in a del.icio.us post. Clicking would automatically fill up the edit summary text input as comma separated values.

Some other suggestions I would throw in might be:
"improved content", "provided links"
