add points/badges in the long run using question status
I would like as a user to change the status of a question, which would enable any user (and not just the asker) to earn some points/badge because of that new status
Joel has mentionned a 'still here' status
a bounty system is being implemented
But there should be other way to incite users to revive old questions
dupe of bounty system
I respectfully disagree: bounty system is not the answer...
The "invitation system" can also be part of a "status change" mechanism. http://stackoverflow.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/37087
The idea is always to add some new incentive for users to answer old or missed questions which would otherwise just fade away.
Another status change is suggested here: http://stackoverflow.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/37167
I only give 1 vote because my 9 other vote points are locked for more than 3 weeks now. Whatever your decision regarding this idea, could you close my other suggestions ?
an example of such a 'status change' is visible here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/172184/are-you-elite-coder-enough-to-take-a-code-challenge
It is not a request though, the community has clearly not endorsed the idea.
However, the notion of 'status change' is clearly illustrated and debated, so that can food for your thoughts...
